Hilda VandergriffArtist BiographyCalifornia artist, Hilda Vandergriff, art career began after retiring from being a high school secretary. Hilda works in a variety of art mediums. Some have visible fiber textures, gold speckles or silver treads woven into the paper. Hilda uses Suminagashi. The technique of floating inks and colors on water and transferring them to paper produce a unique marbling effect. She also enjoys using acrylics. Hilda is inspired by nature, insects, flowers and animals in her art work. She looks for beauty in her subject matter that ultimately will translate into an original cherished piece of artwork.
